All hail Roversi!

Paolo Roversi - Vogue Italia 2010

It’s almost a shame that I never heard of Paolo Roversi while I love photography so much! I was checking out a site with photographer’s portfolios and that’s when I saw the amazing work of Roversi. I went checking out more and more about him, and the more I read and saw, the more interesting he became for me.

It seems his work is most often associated with dreamy romanticism and the fatastica, but he also succeeds to bring magic to any scenario. He’s extremely talented and so it’s totally worth it to write about him on this blog. (so you guys might wanna take some time to check out his photoshoots.) He’s a fashion photographer who did a lot of shoots for Vogue and worked with big names like Naomi Campbell and Kristen McMenamy. He distinguishes himself by putting down a creation and style of his own.

All hail Roversi.

And do you remember Kristen McMenamy? I already wrote about her before. She is one of the most famous models who also acted in Karl Lagerfeld’s ‘Tale of a fairy’ with Freja Beha. Also Roversi seemed to love to work with her, so that’s why I decided to show you ‘Kristen McMenamy by Paolo Roversi in The Grand Couture’-Vogue Italia 2010, where she plays a couture goddess.

Lensed by Paolo Roversi in early twentieth century style photos, Kristen is wearing clothes from couture’s best ateliers including Valentino, Armani PrivĂ© and Chanel in ‘The Grand Couture’. Kristen is the perfect balance between playful minx and an elegant lady in the hauntingly beautiful spread.

Best gay reaction!

This is seriously the best reaction to 'Two girls and a cup' I've ever seen! It totally beats the grandpa reaction!xD
"Please don't do that girl, that's nasty, honey!" hahahah!
"Don't do it, don't do it...AH BITCH, you did it!"

Best thing I've ever seen, ahah!

Bridal Plasty

Sometimes when I have nothing to do, I watch shows like Oprah and Dr. Phill. Mostly it’s funny (that is, when Dr. Phill gives his great ironic comments), but today I saw something weird and somehow it got stuck in my mind. They talked about a TV show, it’s called ‘Bridal Plasty’, and for those who don’t know what it is…well, it’s quite impressive. (not sure if it’s positive or negative, though.)

Most girls and women dream about having the perfect wedding with the man they love, in the perfect dress, great weather, and more of that ‘fairy tale’ stuff. We all know that some women go pretty far to create that dream marriage they always wanted. But today, when I was watching Dr. Phill I was amazed. The show ‘Bridal Plasty’ is a show about women, just like you and I, who are proposed and engaged. They all have to live in the same mansion for 4 months without any contact with their families or partner (a bit like Big Brother, ahahah). The big winner of the show –which consists of winning little contests- will have the 100 000 dollar dream-wedding which other people can only fantasize about. But that’s not all… The real deal of the show is something almost terrifying.

All the women who enter the house are there because they wanna do plastic surgery. They have these little contests which they have to win during the progress of the show. Each time when some of the girls win these small contests they get rewarded with small surgeries or botox syringes. I remember a scene from TV where the women had to finish a puzzle. From the moment the puzzle was finished, they had to run to a table which was full of injections. They had to grab it and run as fast as they could to the doctor, who was having a ‘botox-party’ at their mansion.

So, throughout the entire show, these women get surgeries and blabla, but the ultimate winner wins a COMPLETE make-over. They just have to hand in a list with everything what they want to change about themselves and the one who wins the show will get all of this for free plus the 100 000 dollar wedding.

Somehow I understand, you know? All of these women want to look perfect for their husbands and for their special day. But I’m not so sure if their partners will be so happy when they lift up their bride’s veil and discover someone who looks completely different than the person they fell in love with…

What do you think about it?

Sweet, sweet Candy.

For those among us who are interested in fashion, art, culture, make-up, glamour, icons and STYLE, but also love the provocative side such as transvestism , transexuality, crossdressing and androgyny, I proudly present you guys the fourth issue of Candy Magazine, by Luis Venegas. It’s a fashion magazine which is completely dedicated to celebrate the wonders of life in all their mindblowing glory. Candy is a magazine for everybody. It’s a space for individual freedom, and a publication that pushes people to take on the persona they’ve always wanted!

I already talked about the changes in the fashion and modeling industry, but none of the previous shoots and models (except for Pejic) can compete with Candy Magazine. The groundbreaking glossy broke boundaries as the first transgender publication and in 3 issues it has garnered a cult-like following in and out of the industry. Candy succeeded to make a big impact on a short time with their impressive group of contributors and the best models, actors and entertainers a photographer could ever ask for. A slew of industry insiders came together to create content that is guaranteed to tantalize.

Androgynous cover star Tilda Swinton delivers a stellar turn in Xevi Muntane’s glamourous images, while Steven Klein’s erotic portfolio explores masculine romance with a sci-fi twist and male pregnancy. The provocative content doesn’t stop there, with fresh edits from David Armstrong who captures drag’s superstars, also demanding attention.

Clothing tells us so much more than we give it credit for: every choice, every decision – even the decision not to choose
- TILDA SWINTON

I would tell the readers that it’s all fluid for me: there’s no real male or female.
- CHRIS CROCKER

I think transvestites are wonderful people -very colorful- and I love it!
- OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN

I don’t consider myself a woman, ‘cuz I don’t know what that is. I consider myself Lady Chablis and that is who I am.
- THE LADY CHABLIS

However, since 2004, the main focus of my energy has been in publishing my three personal editorial projects: FANZINE137, EY! MAGATEEN and CANDY.
